Hello RRE families,
Welcome to the final newsletter for the 2019-
2020 school year. I hope this newsletter finds
you and your family healthy and well. It's nice
to have such amazing spring weather and I
hope you have been able to get outside to
soak up some Vitamin D.
What a crazy school year, I believe is an
understatement! A first for all of us! Going
through an abrupt transition from a regular
school day to virtual learning was a steep
learning curve for everyone involved. Thank
you for your patience, flexibility and
understanding as we all continue to navigate
this new learning environment. The District
has been working with State and Local
agencies to develop a plan for the Fall. You
will be receiving updates throughout the
summer as progress is made on an action
plan.
RRE Curbside Distribution is scheduled for
Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th.
Details are posted on our school website. If
you have any questions, please don’t hesitate
to reach out to me directly
[email protected].
The week of May 11th is the last week of
remote learning supported by technology.
The following week is the official last week of
school. Learning will continue through
remote learning opportunities shared by your
child’s teacher(s). If you have any questions,
please follow up with your teacher.
I want to give a HUGE shout out to all of our
volunteers that make a dramatic impact on
our students and classrooms everyday.
Normally, we would be honoring you with a
volunteer breakfast. I look forward to this
event every year. Know that your time and
energy have not gone unappreciated and that
the entire staff is grateful for your continued
support and service. Thank you to Lydia
Goodland (PTO President) and our entire PTO
for the countless acts of support and hours
behind the scenes to benefit our families,
students and faculty.
Congratulations to our continuing 6th
Graders! We will be having a virtual
continuation ceremony that will be shared
with 6th grade families on Thursday, May
21st at 5:00pm. It has been a privilege to be
part of your elementary journey and look
forward to hearing about all future
accomplishments. Make us proud!
I want to give a special shout out to our
School Accountability Committee that
consists of parents, teachers and community
members. This is a group of individuals that
make recommendations to the principal
regarding school policies. We will be having
our last SAC meeting Tuesday, May 12th. I
would like to thank our outgoing member
Stacy Chamaty, who served as Chair and
CoChair during her tenure at RRE. We
appreciate your dedication and support to
RRE and our community. August 2020, we will
be holding SAC elections and are searching
for a parent and a community representation
to serve. Please contact me for more
information or if you are interested in serving
on this committee.
Have a great summer. Stay safe and
healthy. Looking forward to seeing you all
next school year.
Thanks for an unprecedented and memorable
year!
