Hello Rock Ridge:

It is so great to see all the students this year, a nice change from where we were in May. Lots of smiling faces (you can tell by the crinkling of their eyes) and students who are excited to be back to school. Also, a huge shout out to our PTO for the nice “Welcome Back” rock and the chalk messages on the sidewalk/entry area. The love and support of the community is appreciated by all of us at Rock Ridge and we are proud to have such amazing parents. The ‘X’s marking social distancing is a reminder of where we still are at when it comes to coping with Covid and instruction but the message speaks to our practices at the school. As you have seen in the video as well as communications sent out by the school and the district, we all are taking your child’s health and the health of everyone associated with Rock Ridge seriously. We appreciate your understanding as well as your patience as we continue to work through the kinks that may develop over the next few weeks. Please remember, if you have any questions or concerns to contact us so that we can address them immediately. One unfortunate side-effect is that parents and the community are not able to appreciate what teachers are doing to create a fun, positive environment for your children. Ms. Gonzalez, our esteemed art teacher has decorated the entrance to her room in a 3-D artistic design that is fun and way cool. Students are reminded just how creative Ms. Gonzalez is and how much fun her class is. Thank you, Ms. Gonzalez for being an amazing teacher here at Rock Ridge.

A few final last reminders:

1. Call the school if you are picking up your student early. A staff member will walk your child out to your vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle.
2. If you need to drop off items for your child, a crate is located outside of the school for you to place items. Please label clearly with the student’s full name and teacher. Ring the bell and a staff member will retrieve and deliver the item.
3. If your child has any Covid symptoms, please keep them at home. Thank you again for all of your support. We appreciate our Rock Ridge family community and we will continue to keep your students safe and in a positive learning environment.

Sincerely, Peter Mosby Principal, Rock Ridge Elementary
