Dear Rock Ridge Community,

We just wrapped up DCHS’s Feeder Wish Week for JT, a student diagnosed with fibrolamellar hepatocellular and currently attends Flagstone Elementary. Rock Ridge students, staff, and community raised $1,938.58 for JT’s Wish Week, adding to the overall total over $50,000 that was raised by the entire DCHS feeder system. Thank you also much for participating and helping his dream come true. I wanted to recognize a local business, Chef Curry’s Cuisine, who was gracious enough to feed the Rock Ridge staff during our professional development day on January 18th. The staff had a difficult decision on what to have for lunch, choosing between Herb-Roasted Chicken and Butternut Squash and Italian Beef Stew. Chef Curry offers a healthy, customized menu for families who need a break from making dinner for the family. Chef Curry buys the groceries, prepares the food, and does all the clean-up as well. Check out his website and thank him for supporting the Rock Ridge elementary staff. The PTO silent Auction Spaghetti Dinner (March 1st, 2019, 5:00-7:00pm) is quickly approaching and every year one of the items that we give away is a brand-new bow from Diamond Archery. The Diamond Edge SB-1 Breakup Country with Package sells for $400.00 but it can be yours if you have the winning ticket. This is a great bow that can be used by either an adult or child with a draw weight range from 7-70 lbs. Tickets are on sale now, $5 for one ticket or $20 for five tickets. All proceeds go towards the archery club. A winner will be drawn at the PTO Silent Auction and you do not need to be present to win. Plan on joining us for a fun filled night with lots of cool stuff to bid on and an awesome spaghetti dinner. ($10-entire family) After a long spell, we finally had poor enough conditions for the school district to call a “delayed start” for our school day. In case you have forgotten, when the district has a delayed start, Rock Ridge elementary will have first bell at 10:00am with doors opening at 9:50am. BASE will also be on a 90-minute delay and all morning activities are cancelled as is morning pre-school classes and ½ day am kindergarten classes. Breakfast will also not be served. Please be sure that your children are well bundled and are not dropped off or sent to school any earlier than 9:50am. If the weather was severe enough to result in a delayed start, then your child could be placed in jeopardy should you bring/send them to school any earlier. Should you have any questions, concerns or celebrations, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you as we set our eyes on spring.

Sincerely, Peter Mosby, Principal
