February is here and you know what that means: Spring is just around the corner!!!
We have some fun things coming up as well as some great success stories from this
past month.
First, a big shout out to our Student Council, their sponsors (Ms. Shaw and Ms. Shea)
and especially to Mrs. Lisa Lee for the amazing job they did for Wish week.
Students and staff raised $4,000.00 for Caleb to help make his wish come true.
The week ended with a giant assembly at Douglas County High School, represented
by Mrs. Leuschner’s class who brought in the most money, again! Thank you all for
the strong showing, making Rock Ridge one of the top producers out of all the feeder
schools, again!
5th Grade Program:
5th grade will be kicking off a student wellness and prevention program called
“Team U.P.” This program is designed to help prevent bullying, school
violence, substance abuse and other issues that can arise during early
adolescence. Please click on the highlighted title for more detailed information.
Late Student Pickup:
Parents, please remember that the office closes at 4:00pm. If an emergency
arises and you are late to pick up your child please let us know as soon as
possible so that we may support you. However, please do not make this a
regular occurrence in respect for our staff so they may go home to their families
when their day is done.
Last minute messages need to be given to the front office no later than 3:00pm.
After this time we cannot guarantee message delivery due do to the high volume
of activity that we have during this time. We appreciate your consideration and
as always will attempt to help in any way possible.
With inclement weather occurring often in the spring, it is highly possible that
we will have another late start. Please remember that on late start days breakfast
will not be served, there will not be any AM Kindie class and school will start
at 10:00 am.
Thank you everyone for making Rock Ridge Elementary a great place to learn.
Have a wonderful month and stay warm.
Sincerely,
Peter Mosby
