Kristen White

Welcome to Affective Needs K-6!
My name is Kristen White and I am the center-based, affective needs teacher at Rock Ridge Elementary. This is my third year in the district, and I could not be more excited to continue being a part of this wonderful community! As your child's teacher, I will provide a safe, productive, and therapeutic learning environment. My instruction will be individualized and tailored to meet your child's unique needs; my focus is for each student to be given the best opportunity to reach his/her potential.
I moved to Colorado from Baltimore, Maryland at the beginning of the 2016 school year; I currently live in Denver. I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology, and my master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Prior to teaching, I worked on the inpatient Neurobehavioral Unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore; I was afforded the opportunity to work closely with children and adolescents with profound disabilities. From this experience, I knew I wanted to go into special education. My hobbies include camping, running, hiking, playing soccer, and skiing (I love to do anything active). I also enjoy reading, going to the beach, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
